Event Description:
The review schedule is approximately as follows: 7:30 am Registration Begins 8:00 am Successful Chimney Sweeping – Inspections (NFPA 211) and IRC® use 12:00pm Lunch 3:00pm (approx.) SCS Exam (Closed Book) & IRC Exam (Open Book) administered Exams will be timed at 2 ½ hours total. You must have a copy of the 2006 IRC® with you. (Note if you are only taking the exam(s) you need to arrive at least 30 minutes early) To earn the CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep credential, individuals must now pass two exams: The first is a one-hour closed-book exam based on the Successful Chimney Sweeping (2009 edition) and the NFPA 211 (2010 edition). The second is a one-hour open-book exam based on the International Residential Code (2006 edition). Candidates for the exam must bring their copy of the IRC to the testing site in order to complete the exam. Additionally, first time CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep candidates are required to attend either an in-person or online review session to become eligible to sit for the exam set. Once candidates have completed the online review session, most schedule proctored exams. The exams are available both in paper and online versions.
